We fueled up the coach and headed north on I-89 to the Canadian border. We crossed into the Quebec Province, where the language is French. All signs are in French and speed limit signs in kilometers. We had exchanged some U.S. money for Canadian money at a bank in Maine. John changed the GPS to read in kilometers. We found the La Cle des Champs RV Resort in Saint-Philippe, Quebec, and checked in for a one-night stay. It was early afternoon, but we decided to stay and rest rather than going into Montreal. Non? Too bad. So we’ll have to keep writing this journal in English then. And we did so want to show off our ten words of French. We are headed into Quebec where the official language is French and the citizens are called Québécois (ke-be-kwa with no accent). The Quebecois are notorious for their ‘attitude’, so even though Quebec is a province of Canada it is almost like going into a foreign country, even for Canadians.
