The vast majority of places in Quebec are named after saints which means they then have to be qualified by something related to their location so most towns have names at least 4 words long which makes them difficult to remember. This south shore of the Gaspé peninsula was mostly settled by the British so it was a pleasant relief to go through places like Douglastown (settled by Scots) & Chandler (settled by English).
