Jul 26, 2010 - Still Eastbound On 132!
Woke up to the sound of rain on the trailer for the first time in quite a while, but by the time we hit the highway it had stopped, gray and overcast overhead but very blue and promising to the east. We stopped in Matane, Tim Horton's of course!; and did a quick tour of Walmart after our coffee's. Again the highwayran right along the shore of the St. Lawrence but added to the scenery today were many light-houses, unfortunatly none in great places for picture taking. Jul 13, 2009 - Rimouski to Grande Vallee, Que
We leave Rimouski on July 13 after a nice visit there. Learning to communicate in French more is becoming easier. Even though generally we can find someone who speaks English, it is part of the fun to do our best to communicate in French, or at least make the attempt. The folks here aer quite nice and appreciate the effort. From time to tome, we are not able to find someone who speaks English, so via hand signals, using simple words in both languages, we manage to get by quite fine, and enjoy it at the same time. Jul 19, 2004 - North coast and Grande-Vallee
We headed along the specatular rugged coastline of the pennisula to the small hamlet of Grande-Vallee. Grande-Vallee is a small fishing village located on a cape which has a covered bridge which dates back to 1923. We spotted a pod of whales off the coast from our campground and discovered some spectacular rock formations on the shore.Jump to full entry
