In need of a running spot yesterday, I headed south along the Richelieu River to the town of Chambly and the Chambly Canal. It’s a pleasant drive along the river and it was only a fifteen mile drive to Chambly. Parallel to the canal, which was originally built in 1843, is a nice bicycle path that provided a great spot for a training run. I passed three locks on the run that were servicing two pleasure boats as I passed. The town of Chambly is a pleasant community on a lake formed by the Richelieu.
