Sep 2, 2012 - And leaving the Island again...
We camped overnight at Seal Cove Campground (North Murray Harbour, PE) (beautiful campground, BTW, and on calm nights you can hear the seals barking...), and this morning (besides updating the journal - making good use of the quiet time between when Mayzie woke up to go out and when the kids did) when we leave, we will be setting out for the ferry ride to NS. Since we do not know whether we will have showers available tomorrow morning, everyone needs to get that done today. Tomorrow should be an adventure to cap off our trip - Tidal Bore...

Jul 22, 2009 - PEI
After arriving on the Island we decide to go and get some food at restaurant. The guide book tells of some down towards Murray River. We drive on into the night. It is not late, about 10ish but the Island is deserted. There are no cars around and we miss the restaurant as it is in darkness. We pull up at a gas station to ask if there is any hot food available, but they have nothing that we don’t already have within the truck and would have to cook anyway. The gas station closes at 11 and they are happy for us to park up for the night,...

Jun 22, 2008 - Near Murray Harbour, PEI
Sunday June 22…10:15pm So we got onto the 9:30am ferry to PEI this morning. We were the only RV to get on, and there weren’t many other vehicles either. We read later that the ferry holds 155 cars on 2 levels. On our crossing, the upper level was totally empty, and there were maybe 25 other vehicles along with us on the lower deck. When we exited the ferry, the first thing we needed was a gas station. Our GPS unit had told us there was one about a mile on, and we drove right there. But when the GPS said “arriving at destination on right”,...

Jul 30, 2005 - The Hopewell Rocks & PEI For The Night
As we had been travelling hard for awhile and our plan this day was to visit the Hopewell Rocks at low tide (checking the schedule told me that low tide would occure at 1:00pm), so I let the wee boys have a lie in. I made a lovely cup of coffee for myself and whipped up a batch of porridge, yum. It was nice to have a slow morning for a change and the boys really like it at this campsite and are reluctant to leave. It's one of the challenging things about this trip is that we can never stay more than one night in any campsite. We all wish we...
