May 14, 2013 - We are Home Again !!!

Hi all Y'all !! Well it's been three weeks from the time that we arrived home for the first time. Hope all is well on your end of this essay. We were able to say Hi to Mike and Dawnanne the evening we arrived home and a few days later we were invited to Paul & June Howard's for a wee 4 O'clock somewhere nip and a great conversation. They were in Florida for the winter so knew all about those 4 O'clock things. The very first thing we did upon arriving was to inform our close friends by phone that we were safely back because we could not find...

Apr 23, 2013 - We Are Home !!!

Hi Y'all !! We left Winchester, VA sans la RV on Saturday morning right after we parked the dear old girl in the storage area. So it was about 9 am before we got going. As we entered West Virginia we pulled into the West Virginia Welcome Center for a pee. I said "Er , Rita, I don't think I turned off the hot water heater on the trailer." I know, I'll just phone the Campground , since they have the keys they can open her up and turn off the switch. I phoned and the nice young lady said of course we can do that for you Mr. Offer. Terrific! In...

Nov 10, 2012 - Getting Ready For Yet Another Winter in Texas

Hi Y'all!! Well we find it is time to say goodbye to all our friends and surroundings here on PEI and head for Mission, Texas. HeyU has told us that he's ready to get out of these frost filled mornings. He has even a time or two refused to go outside for his usual constitutional. Since we last communicated a lot of water has flowed out of the Sou'West River and a whole summer has quickly gone by. My old company, Vector Engine Services Atlantic, welcomed me back again for another summer of Bearing Inspection. I really enjoy getting back...

Nov 1, 2011 - A So-So Summer and Busy at packing for Departure.

Hi Y'all !!!! Been so long since the last time! I seriously considered not publishing this Travel Log this year because the time spent at Bentsen RV Resort seems to have settled down to just normal living to Rita and I. The first couple of years were NEW, Adventurous, and fun filled but now they seem to be FUN everyday happenings and not so noteworthy.........BUT........with all the positive wishes of all those who have indicated they were waiting in anticipation to read our Journal, I feel we must continue the Saga of Tom & Rita's...

Apr 22, 2011 - We're Finally Home. Longest Trip Ever.

Hi Y'all, We're finally HOME ! After 13 days on the road we are finally home safe and sound at 'Offer's Acres' The most beautiful place in the world!!! I have to pad that statement a bit because she does not look as beautiful as she did when we left. The Storm Surge last December drove the height of the river higher than I have ever seen in 60 years of living here. We were out of contact with y'all for two nights because of the lack of internet connection. After leaving Pine Grove we found a Jellystone Park campground in Sturbridge, Mass....

What a marvelous Summer this has been!! Rita and I would like to say "Howdy" to all our friends who have been coming with us on our winter trips to (we hope) sunny Texas over these past three years. It has been so good to hear from you as you reply to our postings and comment on the contents. It is again the time of year that our attentions are directed to the 5er in the yard and preparing for our Winter Adventure. We even tried the harness on HeyU yesterday and he is now very 'PISSED OFF' at us! You know the old back to us and licking his...

Nov. 11...... Lest we Forget! Here we are again on our doorstep of another great adventure. Friday morning shall see us climbing aboard the Jolly Green Giant and hitting the road (softly). The weather looks wonderful with both Friday and Saturday forecasts looking GOOD. We have a number of friends already at Corpus Christi, Texas waiting for us to arrive at Hatch RV Park. We've had a very interesting summer (as I know we all will have stories when we again meet). We both arrived home with the aches and pains of Arthritis, the shoulders...

Apr 30, 2009 - We Are Home!

Our wishes have been delivered to us! We are so blessed that we had another opportunity to visit our beloved Texas, live with our special friends at Hatch RV Park for the winter and to finally arrive at our special corner of the world we affectionately call "Offer's Acres". It has been quite a while since we were in contact with all. We arrived in Kingston (Monday) and the park there was not equipped with internet. We had decided to stop at Kingston, first because our friends from Summerside, Dick and Sally, were in Kingston visiting their...

Nov 7, 2008 - Anxious to Hit the Road Again.

Well , what a summer! As you all know Atlantic Turbines (now known as 'Vector Aerospace Engine Services - Atlantic') located me in Corpus Christi last winter and offered me a contract term for the summer months. I love people (and of course $) so much that I agreed to sign on to help them out with vacations etc. With my Mom, Frances, being 93 and living in a Nursing Home only 2 Kilometers from our home, we ended up visiting almost every evening after supper and a change of clothes. Mom had a few episodes through the summer which landed her...

May 5, 2008 - HOME SWEET HOME.

We are definitely HOME! On Sunday morning we got up, got dressed and went to the 8am service at our home church. There we gave thanks for the many opportunities that had opened to us this year. We gave thanks for the opportunity of having our RV traveling dreams come true. We gave thanks for the opportunity of seeing new places and experiencing new things. The opportunity of meeting the most wonderful new people all winter, especially our many friends at Hatch. The opportunity of returning to our home and the reunion of all our dear friends...

Oct 6, 2007 - North Shore of Prince Edward Island,

Finally, we arrived at the wild north shore of Prince Edward Island, where the sand dunes and crashing waves are spectacular. We stayed at the National Park campground near the beach, but the wind was so fierce, and the tide and waves so high, that we could only look at the beach from the dunes. The blowing sand pelted us as the light changed rapidly with the fast moving clouds giving an almost infinite number of photographic opportunities. There were only a few campers, and the park closed on Monday for the season - we have begun to feel...
