Day 49 Darlington to Carrying Place 114.9 km @ 21.8kph for 5 hrs 16 min for 7 1/2 hrs Another gorgeous biking day - cool first thing with a head wind till after lunch and warming up to the mid 20s. Today we basically followed Lakeshore Road and hwy 2 east along Lake Ontario. First we had to follow numerous back roads to crisscross Hwy 401 - then onto Lakeshore , which was a very quite , picturesque drive - lots of high end sailing clubs , great Lake views , pretty towns ( vibrant main streets- small shops, restaurants , pubs, sidewalk...

Sep 25, 2005 - Trenton

WOW what a day. We locked through a record 12 locks, Ranney Falls(set of 2), Hagues Reach, Meyers, Percy Reach, Glen Ross, Frankford, Trent, Batawa, Glen Miller, Sidney and end of the line - Trenton! We barely squeaked through the last lock before closing time. We spent the night at Fraser Park Marina right beside Tim Hortons.
