You can actually drive right on to this island via bridges that connect two smaller islands from Espanola ON. I have been fascinated with the idea of Manitoulin Island after hearing deep voiced Tom Jackson (from North of Sixty) singing the Huron Carol about Gitchi-Manitou, the Great Spirit who lives on Manitoulin! We stayed in a campsite right on the Georgian Bay of Lake Huron at Shequiandah with the back of our motor home facing the water. Can you believe Randy woke me up at 5:30 a.m. to take the photo of the sunrise? You gotta love a guy...
