May 15, 2012 - Colden's first swims of the trip
Our first stop was at a new KOA campground. Nice young couple still learning how to operate the computer/cash register. Great site along a river with an inlet big enough to dock boats. Colden enjoyed cooling down by swimming in the inlet. He didn't like the docks but had no problem going in from the shore. Didn't unhook so that we could make an early start. Made it 413 miles today...too long for every day but a good first one.

Jul 19, 2011 - Sault Ste Marie, MI to Sturgeon Falls, Ontario 250 miles
CANAD -IA - YEAH! We woke early at The Soo, had waffles paid a toll to cross the International Bridge ($6) and headed for the border control. We couldn't see a thing on top of the bridge b/c of fog. When we got to the border gate the official asked: "What are you carrying?" I almost said: "What do you want?" Luckily, Charlie beat me to the puncgh and said, just regular camping supplies. We might have gotten a strip search! There was a casino just inside the border so we tried to open the door to get to their ATM (suggested by Visitor's...

Well, we pulled into Glenrock Cottages and Trailer Park after driving a 280 mile leg on Route 17. Lots of trees, one black squirrel, and lots of bumps. The weather turned noticeably cooler and damp. We plan (Plan?!? Me?? Ha!) on leaving here on Monday toward Sudbury, then Sault St. Marie where we’ll re-enter the States.

Wednesday 9/03/08 Sault St. Marie, Michigan Last night, the wind picked up and we had a little rain. Up until yesterday, we have had weather around 80 degrees and clear skies. Today it is overcast, windy and 66 degrees. It is expected to be this way for the rest of the week. We are crossing the bridge into Canada today taking our time to Ottawa. Before we left the US we filled up with fuel ($4.279 for diesel). In Sault Saint Marie, Ontario we stopped at the visitors center to exchange money (1.02, up from 0.96 from last week) which makes...

Jun 19, 2008 - Canada at last
It was a little warmer this morning… 45 degrees when we got up but at one time we saw it hit 60, even though it was for a very brief time…. Bill hooked up the truck and put the electrical cords away in the rain… Not a fun task but one of the realities of RV’ing…. Course we had the option of staying put if we wanted but we were pumped up to get into Ontario…. I don’t know why everyone worries about crossing the border… We have always been treated kindly but we have heard so many horror stories that we wonder if we will be the next… The gal...
