Yesterday we left Wabigoon Lake RV Resort around 1000 and arrived in Abrams Lake Resort in Sioux Lookout about 1100. The drive was short, only about 50 miles but relatively slow. The road is two lanes with no shoulder, paved, and is in fair to good condition. The weather was a mix of sun and cumulus clouds and after arriving at Abrams Lake resort we had a couple of very light rain showers. The campground is full and many of the sites are not very level. Nova Scotia 2011 Trip

Feb 18, 2010 - Sudbury to Siuox Lookout

Day 1: Woke up just past Sudbury Junction and dawn broke near Ruel Ontario. Yes we were in Ontario, literally from 2200hrs Tues to past midnight Wednesday (Sioux Lookout 0056hrs Thursday). No different than a car. It takes forever to get out of Ontario. The same magic that transformed our seats to bunks in the evening provided the reverse while we were at breakfast. Breakfast – amazing 3 choices: always traditional eggs, continental with porridge and a chef’s omlette; fourth different everyday – waffles, pancakes, huge cinnamon bun. We...

Olympics and Beyond

Sep 28, 2008 - On the train...still in ontario

Today is Sunday and we are still on the train and still in Ontario. The train travel continues to be wonderful. People are friendly. Food is fabulous - soup, salad, entree and dessert. All are fit to serve in a very high class restaurant! When we are not eating we stare for hours out the dome car windows at the country passing by. Ontario is gorgeous. The leaves are red, yellow, orange, purple, gold as wellas green and brown. We also play scrabble, read or watch videos. Today there is a souvenir shopping extravaganza where the activity car...
