Aug 6, 2007 - Ride Home

This morning, we are to ride to our separate homes in Toronto and Ottawa. Barbara decided she didn't want to take 17 all the way back as it wasn't an interesting ride. She came up with a route that would take her through Algonquin Park. I was able to accompany her part of the way to Huntsville. Huntsville is a place I haven't been to in many years, I used to visit when my parents lived there for a while. We had a nice lunch at Wendy's and departed on our separate ways. I proceeded down highway 11, all the while hearing about returning...

Aug 23, 2006 - Oxbow Lake

Of to see my Aunt Marcia and her partner Peggy at thier cottage in the Muskokas on Oxbow lake. We were realy looking forward to seeing Marcia and Peggy and to getting our Kayaks of the roof of the trailer! We had a lot of fun sitting around talking with Marcia and Peggy, sitting quietly in the mornings on the deck looking out over the lake. Jacquie and I got our boats in the water twice while we were there and paddled the whole shorline of the lake, what a beutiful spot they have! We had many a tasty meal and I coaxed Marcia and Peggy into...

Aug 20, 2006 - Huntsville

On the way West to pick up Carson from camp. Again on the back roads, we made our way through Bancroft, Haliburton, and on to Huntsville in the heart of Muskoka cottage country. Set up camp at Arrowhead Provincial Park for several days. Nights are cooling off so the camping days may be coming to an end. Picked up Carson on the 20th and he was a very happy camper. Thoroughly enjoyed his camp experience and is already planning a return trip next year!

Feb 17, 2005 - Leaving Muskoka

Hi Everyone, Well I leave Canada in 8 days and let's just say I am a little nervous. I am going to miss Muskoka so much, especially when we have those -38'C days (those are my favourite). Or how about the 16 times I got stuck on our road this winter (as it is not maintained by the town). And the drama at the Inn, who could forget this, definitely not Penny or I. Luv Sara

Jun 21, 2004 - Algonquin and Hunstsville

We spent two days visiting the area of Alqonquin Provincial Park and the town of Hunstsville. When we arrived the weather was lovely and so we had a walk by the local lake but then it changed so didn't do much exploring of the park. However we did visit the Hunstville Heritage Museum or Muskoka Heritage Place as it is called. The Muskoka museum walks through history from Muskokas’s First People to the industriousness and society of pioneer settlers. This visit gave a perception of the history of this part of Canada and how people at the...
