Aug 17, 2012 - NB to NS
Thursday morning was more FOG! In spite of the soup, we had time to visit the Reversing Falls in Saint John, New Brunswick. We arrived about 9:30 AM when the water was at "slack tide," which means about 20 minutes of still water in between low and high tides (when the high/low is level). High tide would be about noon. However as the tide started to move toward "high" we could see the water starting to reverse up the rocks and began to get faster and faster. As we had a ferry to catch, we couldn't stay to watch the water continue to rise....

Oct 2, 2011 - Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia
Constant rain during the night with times of heavy downpour, apparently the residue from Hurricane Ophelia. We moved over to Mahone Bay this morning and will stay here for two nights. Mahone Bay is a picturesque village on a large bay with about 3000 residents and 9 churches. This weekend is their annual Scarecrow Festival and Antique Fair, what a bonus to pull into a place and find this interesting event! We are really enjoying our time in Canada. We have decided to stay for the months of July and August, and possibly longer. :-) Nova Scotia is just beautiful, there is so much to see and do, we don't want to leave without totally exploring as much as we can. He is older and gets tired fast, but he still likes to wet his feet. Our last stop was for...

Aug 27, 2009 - Mahone Bay, NS - Peggy's Cove Revisited
(Ron Writing) Yesterday’s waffle breakfast was so good we decided to have an encore! After breakfast Elena did some cleaning and I finished up a little home improvement project I started yesterday. The sky was perfectly clear when we got up this morning and instead of soon clouding over as so often happens, it stayed bright and sunny all day. When we were ready to leave the campground the weather was so beautiful that we decided to drive back to Peggy’s Cove to see how it looks under the bright sun. It was a short 5-mile drive and was well...

At Rayport Campground in Mahone Bay, NS, we found internet service, so I could upload all these pics. The campground is out of the way, but adequate, with a friendly, helpful staff. We drove down into Mahone Bay and Nunenburg. There wasn't much to do, but the view was beautiful.
