We took an extra day to rest up at our campsite near Truro, but the freezing temperatures at night told us we had to move along towards the south, so we headed up the highway towards Amherst and across into New Brunswick again. ... We then drove back across the Annapolis bridge, with a stop along the way. ... After the historic sites we went to the nearby Heritage Garden, where they preserve old strains of plants, then drove on up the Annapolis Valley. ... I wanted fresh Annapolis Valley apples, so when we came to Berwick, the apple capital, I bought some at a farmer's market - MacIntosh apples so fresh the juice fizzles as you bite them! The next morning we parked downtown and walked around the town of Lunenburg. ... We left the north side of Halifax and drove over to the west side of the city, to another one of Halifax's defense sites. ... We then left Halifax and headed to the southwest to Peggy's Cove and enjoyed the scenery there, then on around the coast. ... A sunny morning, but cool! we started the day by driving to the Mount Pleasant Cemetery where the protestant victims of the Titanic disaster were buried (the ones who weren't buried at sea). The city of Halifax had actually had an architect help design the site as a tribute. ... We drove into Halifax, Nova Scotia on the one month anniversary of leaving Kelowna (I know)! So we already had an excuse to party. ... After checking out the neat downtown and harbor, we went for a tour of the Alexander Keith’s Brewery where we learnt that it was his 114th birthday today! In lieu of this, there was a concert going on down town that night but you had to win tickets- you could not buy them.We drove into Halifax, Nova Scotia on the one month anniversary of leaving Kelowna (I know)! There was no kayaking this week for me as the weather was cool and I need prime weather if I'm going kayaking and maybe get wet. so it’s a busy town! We repositioned to Digby the world capital of scallops!!! YUMMERS Off course we had a fill. ... This is also of the highest tides are one ever!
