Jul 2, 2018 - Quiet Day

Temperature 15c. Went for a drive around the area. Found a spot where we had cell service. Dealt with a couple of many emails. Saw this neat all terrain camper. They are a couple from Switzerland. They brought it over to Canada on the first leg of their trip around the world. They will spend this year touring Canada. Spent the day taking it easy and visiting back and forth. Barb and Glenn decided to go to Fort Providence and meet up with us in the morning. Watched Arrival 2 in the evening, crappy movie! That's it for today...

Jul 1, 2018 - Canada Day

Happy Canada Day. We all had our flags and banners displayed and wore our Canada T-shirts. George, Margaret and I went to Kakisa to fish. . As I was new at this, George gave me advice and helped me choose the right fishing lures etc. Didn't help though, I caught zilch. George and Margaret did ok. Caught fish! Experience pays off I guess. We had a late lunch. Later on we went over to Glenn & Barb's RV for a visit. Watched 'Arrival' on DVD. Good movie with Tom Hanks.

Jun 30, 2018 - Taking it Easy!

Today George & Margaret went fishing at the Kakisa river. Margret and I drove down later and toured the little village. Later on in the day we had happy hour at the park shelter. Okayed by the park ranger, Brian. Goodies were supplied by Barb and Glenn. Wine, snacks consisting of salmon & avacado. Dessert consisted of strawberry shortcake, my favourite! We also played a board game called 'marbles & pegs' or something like that. Needless to say the guys won all the games. Had an early night.

Jun 28, 2018 - Hiking

Today we went for a long hike from the Loiuse Falls to the Alexandra Falls. s'quiters on the way. We all had our mosquito repellant along with bear spray as bears had been seen in the park. Fortunately other than bear 'scat we didn't observe any bears. By the time we got back to the motorhome, my leg was aching. So I had a shot of Crown Royal to deal with the pain. Works everytime! Unfortunately we learned that Barb had taken a spill off of her E-bike, won't be the first time I suppose. Ebikes have a learning curve. Fortunately other than a...

Jun 27, 2018 - Northwest Territories

Woke up this morning to a muddy mess. Of course I forgot my rubber boots at home, so off to the store to buy a new pair. Came back to the motor home and prepared for the next leg of our journey. Crossed the 60th parallel and into the Northwest Territories. Stopped at the visitor centre. Very friendly people. Quite a nice centre. Took a few pictures. Continued on to Enterprise, stopped to gas up. The pumps were surrounded by mud and pools of water. Good thing I bought the boots. While others were getting wet feet, mine were quite dry. While...
