We drove onto Witbourne - Rodrigues Winery our Harvest Host This is a large winery, located in Whitbourne, as compared to the ones we have seen during our trip. We had a personalised grand tour, in the evening from one owners, Leonel Rodrigues and Dwayne, this innovative process never seen or done before in Canada, and only one or two in USA. We watched part of this flaking process, which is hard to put into describe here. Amazing knowledge of and the use of water chemistry. Had some special wine tasting after dinner. No chemical additives...

September 1 – Day 70- Argentia NFL – Whitbourne (10th and last province of the tour!) K’s 60 Time 2h 47m Average speed: 21.45k/H T to d 7618 k As promised the ferry docked on time at 3:30 pm in Argentia after a very nice quiet sail from Cape Breton. Once the ship had docked we had to collect our bikes from the tour van and saddle up for the relatively short ride to dinner and our overnight stop. 8/6 A short 31 miles (PH100, PH1) brought us to Whitbourne and another arena parking lot. This is a great area to park for sightseeing. Our first stop was the quaint fishing village of Brigus with wonderful, skinny streets. We visited the Hawthorne Cottage National Historic Site which was the home of the Bartlett family. The men in this family were well known ship captains. Bob Bartlett was a famous figure in Artic explorations. The cottage was built in 1830 and moved six miles on log rollers to its present location in 1833-1834.. We also...
