We left the buggy campground around 9:30. We only had 92 miles to drive. We continued along Highway 430 which is known as the Viking Trail. This continued along the coast for most of the way. We stopped at the Port Au Choix National Historic site. We took the motorhomes part way then decided to unhook the car for the drive on the gravel road. There was a lighthouse which was closed and a memorial to the Indians who inhabited this area thousands of years ago. We couldn't remember which ones. Jul 10, 2009 - south of Greenland

We’re past the halfway mark – closer to Europe than America now. We arrive early Sunday morning. Each night, when we go to bed we advance the clock by an hour, so we’re four hours ahead of you now, running on twenty-three hour days. Like living on a planet with a different solar cycle, I guess. You get into bed and suddenly realize it’s eleven thirty, not ten thirty. A little bit tiring, but nothing like the jet lag of a flight. We’re up to our ears in food. Jul 9, 2009 - mid-Atlantic

We’re out in the middle of the North Atlantic. Two miles of water beneath us, they say. A pretty amazing experience to walk around with glasses of juice on this small (compared to the sea) metal platform and know there’s nothing but cold water for hundreds of miles in all directions. We’ve had two obligatory “formal” nights – the guys in tuxes and me in my one long black dress (bought for the trip because I had no such thing). An archaic custom but people seem to get into it.
