JULY29th We're on the road again ,with being uncertain of a place to stay we are not heading to the Bruin Peninsula, instead to Grand Falls-Windsor.We stopped at Gander for groceries, Norm also wanted to stop at Canadian Tire to buy a 3lb. compressor. Once settled in our campsite and a good lunch I started to work on the Computer for we have Internet and Norm played with his compressor. Now all tires have perfect weight. Aug 20, 2006 - Botwood, NL; Mussels and Screech
Today we were off for a short move (59 miles) to Botwood, NL. We were to have dry camped at an old Seaplane Base right near the harbor, but another RV caravan beat us out and they parked us in a school parking lot instead. I think we actually had the better deal. At least we were able to use the school's wireless to download email and such. After lunch we boarded a school bus and were taken out to a small community for lunch, a boat ride around the harbor through a mussel farming area and then we participated in a "Screech In"...

To Botwood, NL - 59 miles - August 15, 2006 Our agenda today was to arrive quickly as we had a 11:30 appointment with the "Bumpy Blue Bus". Our site for tonight is the parking apron of the old Botwood Seaplane Base. Botwood was the site for the first scheduled commercial trans-atlantic flights in the "Flying Boats" - the old Boeing Clippers and the Catalenas which started in 1939.
