As we journeyed to Mary's Harbour in order to catch the boat to Battle Harbour, we had to travel along about 80 km of gravel road, the grader had not graded about half of it so we had many ruts and pot holes. It was difficult trip, but we made it to the boat with about 10 mins to spare. We relaxed as we took the boat to Battle Harbour, we met Bernd Schultz and Regine Cesterle from Germany on the boat. Aug 2, 2010 - Battle Harbour, Labrador

We arrived in Labrador Friday morning in rain and wind, local temperature at noon was only 48F and it didn't get any warmer. We drove north up the coast of Labrador stopping at several craft shops, a drive out to Point Amour Lighthouse, and had lunch at a local person's small restaurant. The people here are very friendly and welcoming. As we needed to fill our camper water tank, the man offered to let us fill from his home outside tap. Aug 30, 2009 - Battle Harbour

Battle Harbour was a surprise and definitely a highlight of our trip to the Atlantic provinces. From the welcome by energetic, knowledgeable, gregarious and sincere manager Mike Earl to the graciousness of the dinning room and facility staff everything was casual but professionally done. Interpretation of the Basque fishery and life under the salt fish plantation merchants is fully presented and explained.
