Sep 24, 2019 - St John New Brunswick
Yes, you are correct. From Portland we sailed north, back to Canada and another trip through customs. Easy again. We awoke to a cool, damp, gray, foggy day. We went off the ship anyway and walked the short walk to the town. First thing we saw was a shopping mall. Dick’s watch band had broken so it was fortunate that there was a jewelry store so he could get a new one. And I found a couple of short sleeved blouses on sale in a clothing store. We went to Billy’s Seafood for a lunch of wonderful scallops and seafood chowder. They also had a...

Aug 30, 2019 - Allison and Sherri Smith, Canterbury, NB
Aug. 30, 2019 - Drove from St. John to Allison and Sherri Smith in Canterbury, NB. These are friends we met the first year we went south in Dessert Hot Springs, Ca. Had not seen them now for 4 years. Parked in their yard and just managed to squeeze under the wires in their yard. Sheri cooked a delicious meat loaf dinner and we spent the evening getting caught up. Aug. 31, 2019 - 8:00 went to a Community Breakfast at North Lake Hall with Allison and Sherri. After breakfast stopped at Cyril and Miriam's, who were at their cabin on 1st Eel...

Aug 29, 2019 - Lazy Day in St. John
Stayed in St. John for another day as the storm they were forecasting was supposed to hit today, so we decided just to stay put. Started raining during the night and it has rained on and off all day. We have had such good weather, that we can't complain. This only about the 3rd rainy day we have had since we left Winnipeg. We slept in and generally have had a lazy day!! Was able to update the blog as we finally have some decent internet!! Decent internet and 2 english channels on the TV, on a rainy day. Things are good!

Aug 28, 2019 - Reversing Falls, St. John, New Brunswick
Went to see the reversing falls that are right in St. John, at high tide. Don't why they are called falls as there are no falls, at least not at high tide. After seeing the falls, we went to check out downtown St. John. Went to the old Market and had lunch there. Wandered around downtown St. John and around 2:30 decided to drive east to St. Stephen and check out the Gagnon Chocolate Factory museum. Took the scenic drive and got there in plenty of time to go on the 4:00 tour. Interesting tour and we got lots of free chocolate samples....

Aug 27, 2019 - Trouble on the road
Were leaving the Coop Daigle RV Park around 9:30, Alvin notice the 5th wheel was leaning to the left. On taking a closer look he notice the left rear shackle was gone. An employee at the park recommended calling Country Camper Rv Sales, and called them for us. Alvin spoke to the service manager and they determined they probably had the part we needed, and to come on over. It was a careful 1/2 hour drive to the RV store. When we arrived, they quickly determined they did have the parts we needed. The parts manager seemed very knowledgeable...

Aug 25, 2019 - Another visit with Ethel and Eric
Joanne made some delicious Blueberry Buckwheat pancakes for breakfast. After breakfast we went for a drive to the Belliveau Orchard and I bought some Maple Butter and a Pear Cider they produce. Had never seen Maple Butter, but it is delicious!!!! Then drove further alongside the Bay of Fundy and stopped at the St. Anne church. This church is shared by th MicMaq and the Acadians still today. Here there is also still evidence of the early farming and diking methods the Acadians used when they settled here. Went back to Phyllis and Joanne's...

Aug 23, 2019 - Visit with Phyllis and Joanne
Drove from Peggy's Cove to Taylor Village (south of Moncton), New Brunswick. Parked in Phyllis and Joanne's yard. They live on acreage just in Memramcook. Phyllis and I worked together, when I worked for Corcan. She worked in Ottawa, but came out to BC quite often and we talked on the phone often. Joanne (Phyllis' sister) cooked a delicious pork chop, green bean and potatoes dinner. Had a fresh blueberry square for dessert. I took the opportunity of doing the laundry at their house. Always great when you don't have to use the laundromat!!!

Aug. 10, 2019 - Drove from Gagetown to Coop Daigle RV Park, St. Louis de Kent, just north of Moncton. Eric and Ethel have a seasonal spot here and we managed to get a spot close to them. Went to the local Co-op and picked up some groceries. Shared supper with Eric and Ethel back at the park. Aug. 11, 2019 - Slept in and had a lazy morning. Later in the morning went to the Provincial Park next to the rv park. Walked down the boardwalk and down to the beach. Put our feet in the water but it was pretty cool. Went out for lunch at a local...

Aug 9, 2019 - Gagetown
Left Quebec City before 9:00 and drove past Fredericton, New Brunswick. Really nice scenic drive heading south in New Brunswick. Booked an RV park west of Fredericton, but the GPS got the location of the RV park all wrong. It was close in distance, the park just happened to be across a lake from where we were. Good thing the RV cancelled the reservation and gave us our money back. Decided to keep driving and the managers at Coy Lake RV Park near Gagetown, NB found us a place. Managers were very friendly and helpful. It was a long day of...

Jul 18, 2019 - Fredericton, New Brunswick
Ross and Marge left Bangor, Maine Monday morning and drove to Houlton, Maine where they filled the tank with as much diesel fuel as could be squezzed into the tank before crossing the border into Canada. The traffic was light and the weather was broken clouds with warm temperature. Before leaving the truck stop Ross changed the odometer to read in Kilometers. Crossing the border was a breeze they were cleared and on the go again in less than 10 minutes. The customs officer seemed to be more interested in California than he was in clearing...

Jul 6, 2019 - Winding Down
106 miles to Saint John, NB. It was a beautiful day for a drive. Temps in the high 70’s low 80’ (Dick kept getting heat warnings on his phone for NB).We arrived at Rockwood Park in good time & quickly set up camp. The sites were 30 amp full hookup that were for caravan parking. Dick & Judi picked us up to go into town for lunch. Our wagon masters mentioned all the food vendors in the Market. It was a Saturday morning so parking was free but also hard to find. So the town looked like any other town with the exception of many over the road...

Jul 5, 2019 - The Rocks Provincial Park
We were at the Rocks Provincial Park before 8:30 am. A guide talk was to take place at the bottom of the stairs on the ocean floor at that time. There were a group of young people singing when we arrived. Then the guide talked a little to explain what to look for as we walked further out along the rocks & muck. Little ocean sea amoebas, crabs & we found one dead cancer crab. I couldn’t believe the people that wore only flip flops! Seriously people! It was like playing hopscotch on rocks, trying not to get sucked up in the muck. I wore my...
