Deer Island, a small piece of land 10 miles long and 3 miles wide was our next stop. It is located close to Eastport, Me but in the Canadian side of Passmaquoddy Bay. To get there, we took the free government ferry, in the fog, of course. The residents of the island are fishers and aquafarmers or people who have retired from the fishing industry. We saw several salmon aqua farm operations as we drove along the coast. The largest lobster pound is also located on this island. Thousands and thousands of lobster are held in these pounds...
