Jun 13, 2013 - Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick, Canada
Today we drove 111 miles to our next destination. We drove through the Bay of Fundy National Park. Yankee RV Caravan takes you on scenic back roads to the different locations that you would not necessarily travel on if you were traveling on your own. Our first stop was in a little town called Alma. We went to Butland's Seafood Market and picked up three fresh two-pound cooked lobsters that we had ordered in advance. We ate one for lunch and froze the other two for another time. Then we walked to Kelly's Bake Shop and bought six of their...

Before we left the campground on Thursday, Clarence found the boulder that he ran over two years ago when we were in this campground. We also visited the International Labor Union Museum and looked for photos of his Uncle Van but did not find any. Our journey then took us to the little town of Alma. The wagon master had taken lobster orders from each of us and had called ahead to have them steam lobsters that were caught that morning. Although it was a little cool,we sat outside and ate the lobsters. We also had sticky buns and peanut...

Jun 12, 2013 - Saint John NB
We had lots of rain and wind last night( which Trip did not appreciate one bit). We had a short drive to the Rockwood Park Campground in St. John, NB. That was a good thing because it rained off and on all day. We went to the Reversing Falls but since it was ebb tide we did not see the spectacular water surges that we had seen before. We saw a movie explaining the extreme tides in the area. Some of the group went back to see it at low tide but we decided to stay in and stay dry. We went to the Market Place downtown today and Clarence bought...

Jun 12, 2013 - St. John, New Brunswick, Canada
Today we drove 72 miles in pouring rain to St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. We are staying at a City owned park called Rockwell Park Campground. It is nothing fancy but we are on gravel with water and electric. Even though it rained most of the day, we had fun with all our old and new friends. There are only 21 of us, but we get to be with everyone and have a great time. We went to the Reversing Falls which is considered both a spectacular event and natural phenomenon. Twice daily the tides of the Bay of Fundy reach such heights that they...

Jun 11, 2013 - St. Andrews By The Sea, NB
We had a smooth ride across the Canadian border. We have been to the Oceanfront Kiwanis Campground in St. Andrews-By-The-Sea before but it is one of my favorite campgrounds. We are parked looking at the Passamaquoddy Bay and get to see the extreme tide changes here. Our official start to the tour was Monday and we had a sumptuous dinner in the little town which is only a few miles away. I had strawberry rhubarb pie. Yum! Tuesday we took a tour of the quaint town and experienced a lunch at a fantastic old inn. A couple of the tour members...

Jun 11, 2013 - St. Andrews By-The-Sea
The day was dreary when we started this AM on our Bus Tour of St. Andrews. On our bus tour, these are a few of the interesting places we saw and facts we were told about St. Andrew: The village of St Andrews was established in 1783 by loyalists of Castine, Maine. Except for Water St., which is the main street though town running along the shore, all the street names have royal or colonial associations. Thirteen were named after 13 of the 15 children of King George III and his wife Charlotte, and two after faithful servants of the crown; the...

Woke up this AM to sunshine and the temperature got up to the high 60s. Went into the village to exchange money for Canadian currency. The exchange is pretty even right now. We received about 99 cents Canadian money for every American dollar we exchanged. We had a chance to walk up Main Street before the bank opened and looked at the quant little shops. There were two beautiful murals painted on the side of a couple of buildings. Early this afternoon the tide came in within a matter of an hour. What a difference the scenery out our front...

Jun 9, 2013 - 5th Day - St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada
Driving through Maine there were wild blueberries growing everywhere along the side of the road. At this time of year, the bushes are very close to the ground. It almost looks like fields of weeds. They harvest the blueberry bushes the first two weeks in August by shaking the bushes and picking the berries off the ground. Before the berries are harvested, they "rent" bees and the bees are brought in to pollinate the blueberry flowers. Also along the side of the road there are many colorful lupine growing wild. After we crossed over through...

Jun 5, 2013 - Relative visits after Minor Incident
We made it to our first stop, Grand Falls New Brunswick. Although we stopped about half way to Grand Falls and went into the 5th wheel to make a sandwich and all was ok by the time we got to the campground and opened the 5th wheel we found one of the cupboard door had opened and 4 cups were in pieces all over the kitchen. Other than a ding in the floor and a scratch on the cupboard no other issues. Since arriving JJ have been busy visiting her family. Attached is a picture of JJ with her aunt and husband who she has not seen for several years.

Hi Everyone, well after 2 weeks of waiting for brake clamp parts for the RV (a week from Tennessee to Toronto and a week from Toronto to our mechanic..can you believe that!),we left home Thursday Jan.10 and we drove to Lewiston,ME. We had planned to drive to outside Boston but that morning we found we had no coach batteries( not engine battery that is already new). the coach batteries were dead and split open from the freezing cold weather. Harry took out the old ones and got new ones. So instead of 8:30 departure we left at 11am. We...

Oct 11, 2012 - Day 88 - Moncton, NB
We decided that this would be a lazy, get vehicle work done, and minor chores done day. We took the Trailblazer to Mr Lube, purchased our US Medical Insurance from Cdn Snowbirds Medipac Plan, purchased tape to repair tear in the slide awning, fixed awning, measured height of bus to get accurate reading. This has become an issue as many of the roads we plan to travel in the US have low bridges and interchanges. We know what Don told us the height was, and we know we increased that when we installed the satellite dish dome but what is it now?...
