Today made up for some of the awful weather we’ve had in the last couple of weeks. It was a sparkling sunny day & I spent most of it walking. It was so warm that I even had to turn on the air-con for a while when I got back this afternoon. There’s a little track next to my campsite which leads into the town so it was just a 5-10 minute walk to the main beach of Clear Lake, which really is very clear. May 31, 2017 - Brandon to Wasagaming

The other day when I drove out to Cannington Manor, I had to go through some mud so the motorhome was embarrassingly dirty. I found a truck-wash in Brandon that would clean it for me so I organised to have it done first thing this morning ($80 well spent, I thought). It took about an hour & looks good - I just hope I don’t meet too many road-works or dirt roads to mess it up. Jun 28, 2007 - Biking around Clear Lake

For our final day in Riding Mountain National Park we got the bikes out and cycled the north shore of Clear Lake and found the Wishing Well Garden. It was a beautiful day and completed our time in the the Park on a high point. Tomorrow we head south to Brandon, Manitoba

The Park derives its name from the fur trappers who changed from canoe to horseback to travel across its wooded highlands.The Park which was officially opened in 1933 is a vast expanse of wilderness except for the village of Wasagaming, located on the southern edge of the park beside Clear Lake, a popular holiday destination. The area of the park is about 55km from north to south and over 120km wide.
