Jun 5, 2016 - Kenora to Neepawa
Despite overnight rain, we woke up to clear blue skies and lots of caterpillars! We drove through Kenora as we found our way to the highway, then with only 70 Kms to go, we headed out of Ontario! We plugged into the GPS the Walmart address at Portage La Prairie for supplies, and it did us the favour of directing us off the highway, down residential streets and what looked like a back alley, before we decided enough, went back to the highway and about 2 Kms later found ourselves at Walmart, why the heck the GPS sent us that way is beyond me!...

Sep 5, 2009 - Labour Day long weekend - 2009
This is my first camping trip with my truck. When I pulled into this Lion's campgrounds in Neepawa MB , the attendent asked me what I planned on doing with the truck. I told her, I'd like to go camping here..... She replied you can't bring that Camper Tank into my campground.... I said why not, it is no different than other motor homes, in fact my camper tank as you put it is only half the size of that big one sitting right there. She changed her mind and let me stay the weekend....

Jul 24, 2008 - Family Reunion
Dale and I are just back from a trip to Franklin, Manitoba for a Henderson family reunion. It was our first trip with the motor home towing the truck. The truck tagged along slick as a whistle. I am getting used to the amount of the diesel fuel bill when we fill up. At the gas station I am the one who pays for the fuel, while Dale fills the tank. I just think of all the air miles points we are adding up and the gas bill is not so difficult to take. We stopped at Outlook, Saskatchewan, to visit our daughter-in-laws parents. They booked us a...

Jun 15, 2008 - Day 9 - Grand Forks AFB, ND to Neepawa, Manitoba
We're on the road again and tonight finds us in Neepawa, Manitoba. A sleepy little burg with most everything closed today because its Sunday. We've stopped for the night at the Lions River Bend Campground which is part campground and part city park. A nice serene setting with a small river winding through it and a lot of walking trails. The campsites are a little close but not bad since there's only us and one other rv in the area where we are camped. We shopped at the local Safeway for dinner, cooked steaks on the fire pit for Father's day...

We were up at 5.45 am to prepare breakfast for the group. Our tent down and all packed up, we served oatmeal to the gang before cleaning up camp and hitting the road. We were on the road by about 8.45 with Nathan and Sean in tow. The winds were on our noses for the first 25 km. It was gusting at a fair speed, making our goings slow and laboured. Frustrating to say the least. The destination for today was to be Minnedosa, but TS and I had decided that we would cycle an extra 35 km to Neepawa and spend the night with his great aunt and uncle...
