Monday, October 3, 2011 - After leaving Rugby on Monday morning, we drove 46 miles north on Hwy 3 and stopped at the International Peace Garden just before going through Canadian Customs. The Peace Garden straddles the US-Canada border of North Dakota and Manitoba. It is a wonderful symbol of the peaceful relationship between the two countries. They had already experienced three freezes so there were not many flowers that were still in bloom but the grounds were still very beautiful. Jun 27, 2010 - Heading For The Border
We left Winnipeg after a late lunch and a stroll through The Forks area, driving west and then south on a very straigt, very flat road under the most ominous of black clouds. I kept looking for funnel clouds, as they were in the news a few days ago, but none appeared, thank goodness. Lightening flashed and we were poured upon for much of the way to Boissevain, Maniitoba, our stop for the night and the last small town before the border. Tomorrow we will visit the International Peace Garden and then cross back into the U.S.A.
