Aug 29, 2011 - Oh Canada

The four of us moved on up to British Columbia Canada. We drove aboot (Canadian) 95 miles to Surrey BC and are camping in a private campground nicely situated on a creek. Actually, this is Don and Jeanne's campsite but their rig couldn't fit so we swapped spots. We drove to the shore around lunch time. White Rock is just up the road and we strolled the sidewalks looking at the Pacific Ocean and for a lunch spot. We had an EXCELLENT lunch at a local fish and chips place then went for a walk on the beach. Not at all like east or west coast...

Jan 10, 2011 - Back In Canada After 4 Months

We pulled out of Medford Oregon around 8:30 this morning, real easy hookup as all I had to do was turn off the fridge. The drive most of the way through Oregon state was shrouded in fog, in some places quite heavy. But by the time we were nearing Portland we were under clear skies once again, but only for a very short period of time. The farther north we went the grayer the skies and the more white stuff on the side of the road. By Bellingham there was the odd snowflake coming down. We hit the Peace Arch border crossing right around 6:30...

Dec 2, 2010 - Tulalip, WA - Delta, BC

Happy Birthday Steve! We depart the casino and make a quick stop at Walmart (can't resist!) and make it to the border mid-morning. No problems with the customs people and off to Delta, to start the unloading process. Along the way, we discuss the things we enjoyed most about our trip and recall some of the people we met and things we saw. We agree that it is so great to travel, you meet interesting characters, nice & maybe not so nice people and you see where people live and what they do. The scenery changes, so does the weather and you...

Sep 6, 2010 - The Rest of Our Life!

This journal entry marks the beginning of a new chapter for us. Effective August 31st at midnight Larry sold his company. He's left it in the capable hands of Tom Harris Cellular. Remember back in June Maureen tried to make our anniversary cell phone/computer free - the beginning of the deal to sell happened at the same time so that's why it wasn't so successful! We had been talking about a new roof for the cottage so we decided rather quickly to get it done. The roof is a steel roof that looks like cedar shingles and has a lifetime...

Jun 24, 2010 - Off to Vancouver

Thursday: We woke up to wonderful weather this morning. I did laundry and did my walk, then we drove to Vancouver. We parked the truck and walked around different areas of town. It is a very large city with a lot of people. Traffic was heavy. We enjoyed our day, then returned to the park to grill out in the beautiful weather. Air conditioners are running again and we will use the air conditioner tonight, something we have not done for a few weeks. At 8:06pm, it was 69 degrees outside.

We stopped 23 miles from Vancouver at and will drive the pickup to Vancouver tomorrow. The rv park, Border Pacific backs up to the U.S. customs, divided by a fence. It was a very clean, well kept park. As soon as we parked, we immediately started cleaning the inside and outside of the coach and the pickup, Wow, you should have seen how they shined after getting all the mud and dirt off them! It took almost...

Jun 8, 2010 - Made It!

Well, unlike last year we made it through all our appointments with no setbacks, and are scheduled to hit road for Revelstoke tomorrow. Pretty much spent our time here catching up with friends, visiting Marilyn's Mom, and spending way too much money at Guildford; I didn't think there was enough room left in the trailer to acquire more STUFF!

Jun 5, 2010 - Surrey Successfully!

Well here we are, day one and we made it as far as we did last year. Hopefully this year things go as planned and we pull out of here Wednesday morning heading east! Left Campbell River at 7:30 this morning and after an uneventful drive down island we stopped at Tim Horton's in Nanaimo for a coffee before proceeding to the Departure Bay ferry terminal. $212.40 for the truck, trailer, and the two of us to get onto the mainland. We had reservations on the 10:30 ferry and as per usual it pulled out right on time, putting us in Horseshoe Bay...
