I am up at 5:15 am (the sun is just coming up over the horizon) to use the facilities and decide to stay up for a bit to enjoy the morning birdsong. I did, but only in between the sound of someone using a drill nearby and cars whizzing by to go god knows where at such an early hour. Two hours later we are up again to crystalline blue skies and the promise of a warm day. While I finish up the blog James cooks us bacon and eggs over the open fire. Jul 8, 2011 - Terrace to Port Edward

James: Leaving the Wild Duck in Terrace we need to make a few stops for supplies - in order: beer, rum and a new water jug. Intermittent rain on the way from Terrace BC. We serpentined our way from Terrace to Port Edward . Water and rock living in peaceful harmony. Cascading waterfalls caressed the hillsides and a feeling of inferiority came over us in the midst of the majesty that surrounded us. The road was calm and gentle with few ascensions. Tuesday 17 August 2010 We had decided to visit the Bear Observation site again before we left Stewart so managed to get there about 8.30am. We had set ourselves a time limit of 10.00am to leave regardless of whether we had seen any bears or not. It was a fresh morning and the sun had not hit the boardwalk yet; despite this there were lots of people there waiting to see the bears. May 27, 2008 - Lakelse Lake to Port Edward

May 27, 2008 The temperature this A.M is 62, mostly sunny in Terrace. We traveled about 90 miles to Port Edward, just south of Prince Rupert following The Skeena River. The views of waterfalls cascading down steep rock faces was beautiful! The Mountains many of them Glacier Mountains in Alberta and British Columbia have been amazing to behold. I think my favorite views have been of the rolling hills and farms with these magnificent Mountains in the background The weather became cloudy as we neared Prince Rupert and the temperature dropped...
