Jun 18, 2010 - Our Second Day on the Highway to Toad River
An early breakfast of cereal allowed us to get going quickly. None of the other campers are up and about except for two guys who were tent camping nearby. They pull out a few minutes before we do. We continue north on the Alaska Highway hoping to reach Muncho Lake Provincial Park tonight where we may stop for a day or two There is a lot less traffic on the highway after passing through Ft. Nelson. Particularly there are fewer trucks. I know they are just doing their jobs but some of the drivers really travel much too fast, particularly...

Jun 8, 2009 - We Move On Toward Munch Lake and Liard River
We were surprised at how quiet it was in the parking lot of the cafe at Buckinghorse River. With all the truck traffic and other activities we thought it could interfere with sleep. Not the case as we both slept well as did Pookie. A quick cereal breaksfast and on the road. At Ft Nelson we toured the small community museum which was touted to be the main tourist attraction in town. Jul 16, 2008 - Buckinghorse River Wayside Provincial Park Campground
On July 13th you guys hit this journal site 493 times! As early as we left the campsite yesterday morning…we left just as much later this morning from the Toad River Campground. It was a wonderful site that we would greatly recommend to anyone. We finally got packed up and on the road around 11:00 ..just in time to almost stop for lunch even before we got going. Needless to say, we did not put a lot of miles under our tires! We drove only around 228 miles through absolutely breathtaking scenery filled with LOTS of wildlife.. about 100 stone...
