Jun 12, 2010 - Boston Bar, BC

June 12,2010 day 7 Sunny skies finally. We are in the mountains now; heavily forested. Hwy 1 follows the Fraser River; winding its way north. Our first stop this morning is at the Minter Gardens just south of Hope. It covers 32 acres but I think half is parking lot. Very nice! There are 12 theme gardens, each with a unique design, with paved paths wandering through them and numerous side trails that lead to small hidden gardens. There are several water features sprinkled through as well. The rose garden, for example, is a series of...

May 16, 2009 - Alaska Bound - Departing Monroe, Going Beyond Hope and Arriving at Hell's Gate!

Saturday, May 16 2009. Hell's Gate, Boston Bar, British Columbia, Cananda Departing Monroe, Going Beyond Hope and Arriving at Hell's Gate! We all got an early breakfast this morning. Tom and Jonathan worked on getting the RV ready while I ran into town to check the post office one more time to see if the package we were expecting had made it yet. We had decided to meet at Lowe's when we were done. The package hadn't arrived so I made arrangements for it to be forwarded to Dawson Creek Post Office so we will hope it makes it there before we...

Jul 27, 2008 - Boston Bar

Hate to leave Prince George, but we need to get back into the states to buy food and fresh produce. US customs has funny rules about food and such, so we are coming across the border with very little. We will stock up in Seattle. The road south out of Prince George is very busy. Lots of traffic. We are able to run in overdrive for the first time since leaving Montana. Still some hills but not bad. But since we hit Highway #1, we are driving in a canyon with steep drop off. This canyon follows the Frasier River down to Vancouver?? I think....

Jul 17, 2006 - Entering Canada ---

Crossed the border at Sumas, Washington. Had no problems, just a few questions, no inspections. Headed east on Trans Canada Hwy 1. The trip went through flat farm land until we got to Hope, then the road turned up the Frazer River canyon. Lots of curves, ups, downs, and more curves. Was a beautiful trip. We ended up at a little campground in Boston Bar, BC. Nice little place, big, long & wide, shaded, full hookups, with a little eatery next door.

May 5, 2006 - At Home Still

The clock has started ticking, and I do not even have a ticket yet, something I really should deal with. This is mainly an entry to test out this system, and hope it works. I made my first booking, it is at The Generator in London, its a hostel. Josh and Sumerlee recommend it, as does the Let's Go book. Derrick on the other hand only know of it because he hanged out with some drunken girls who were trying to find the place... score!
