Today we crossed the Border into Canada to visit Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta. The Drive over the Chief Mountain road was spectacular....the scenery is just breathtaking. On the way in we saw a Whitetail deer and a Coyote hunting for food in an Alpine meadow. The Village of Waterton is a tourist destination for sure, hardly any full time residents during the Winter months. Sep 9, 2009 - Waterton Lakes National Park
If you remember in our last post I mentioned planning a meeting with some of my (Bryan’s) friends from high school. Well, as luck would have it they were heading off camping so we planned to meet up with them at Waterton Lakes National Park. More on that in a few minutes. Leaving Calgary, we travelled through some of Canada’s most incredible cowboy country: rolling hills, lush green meadows, cattle and horses grazing leisurely in the mid-day sun (wow, am I getting poetic or what?). OK, there is a little bit of cowboy wanna-be still in me....
