Today, we crossed the Canadian Border! We departed Great Falls at 4:58am MT. We arrived at the border at 10:20am where 6 cars and 2 campers were in line ahead of us. Everything went smoothly for us and we were processed and out of there by 11:01am. We headed up toward Edmonton where the largest shopping complex in North America is located. We went thru Calgary and then Edmonton. May 20, 2008 - Day 8
Today was a long driving day. We left St. Mary, MT and went across the border into Canada. We filled up on gas first in Babb, MT. At $3.759/gal. unleaded because the gas is higher in Canada. It was a short drive from our campground in St. Mary north on 89 to the border. In Canada we got on Hwy. 2 north through Calgary and to Edmonton. Then we got on Hwy. 43 north to Sangudo, Alberta, Canada. Sangudo is a little over an hour drive north of Edmonton. We are staying at Pembina River Ferry Crossing RV Park. Aug 28, 2006 - And so it begins...
I am in Calgary Alberta, and, amazingly enough, so is my luggage. Anyone who knows me or my family is probably well aware of our 'no-checked-luggage' policy. Well in this case I had resigned myself to checking a suitcase figuring that packing for 6 months in a 3rd World country constituted a good exception to that rule. So I reluctantly released my bag at the Vancouver airport and 2 days later dug it out of a heap of 'delayed' luggage in the Calgary airport baggage claim room...
