We have been busy beavers trying to see everything in the area in one week. Boy oh boy do we wish we had planned for more time here. We are seriously thinking of spending a whole summer in this area next year. Today we visited another lake called Moraine Lake. It is a glacially - fed lake in Banff National Park outside the Village of Lake Louise. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at 6,163 feet. Jul 2, 2008 - Bow Valley Parkway and Lake Louise
Canada Day (1 July) proved wet and miserable and so a day in the coach was in order. No use getting wet for the sake of it! Next day we travelled the Bow Valley Parkway (1A) from Banff to Lake Louise bear spotting as we went but none were around. There are a number of stops along the parkway giving views of the mountains, the Bow River or both. The exhibits at the stops also gave information about the wildlife within the park. We stopped for a while at the busy Johnston Canyon and walked to the lower falls. Jenny wasn’t sure of the catwalk...
