Feb 12, 2020 - All the Way Home
We were up early today and had breakfast in the Neptune Lounge. We returned to our room to await the disembarkation call. This soon came and we went downstairs and straight off the ship - quite a contrast to the chaos of the end of the last cruise. We picked up our luggage and cleared US immigration - at least he looked at our passports and compered our faces with the picture, unlike the previous time. We went outside and were directed to the shuttle which was waiting. We were the only passengers and were soon - too soon - at the airport...

Nov 23, 2019 - Start out the right way
We left home and headed to the airport. Our wonderful friend Kylie got us a room for the night at the Renaissance Hotel at the Edmonton International airport. Once settle in we headed down to the Halo lounge for dinner. We had caesars to start then I had tomato soup that was excellent. Elton had the butter chicken, which was great. Then bed time. The rooms are wonderful and the beds are the best.

Sep 20, 2019 - Dinosaur hunting in the badlands
Fri 20th Sep We off on another road trip to the Badlands, to find Dinosaurs in Drumheller and check out some hoodoos. The scenery here is completely different, as in it is the Badlands, lots of wheat and hay crops, and Horseshoe canyon is impressive. In Drumheller there are dinosaurs everywhere, a few are lifelike, but many are cool and quirky. We go to lunch about 16km down the road to a wee town called Wayne. We cross the Rosebud River eleven times, (one way bridges each have their number hand painted on the ends, in case you lose count)...

Sep 19, 2019 - Ice ice baby
Thurs 19th September Another exciting day planned, we head back to Calgary (Cowtown) today, with a stop at Columbia Icefields Athabasca glacier. These are largest icefields in the Rockies, home to six glaciers, formed a couple of hundred thousand years ago. Our tour includes the glass floor Skywalk above Sunwapta valley, CA$200 ($238) for the two of us. Our first stop is at the lookout over Athabasca Pass, and then on to Athabasca Falls. It is a tad chilly, minus 1 degrees, but sunny and no breeze, so it is not too bad at all. It is busy...

Sep 17, 2019 - Rockies
Tues 17th Sep Off on the first roadie to the Rockies, we are going to Jasper. We head away soon after 9am, hopefully after the morning rush has died down. The drive is a bit over 400km, and without stops takes around 5 hours. As expected the scenery is stunning, massive mountains all around us. We arrive at Lake Louise a bit after 11am. There is an overflow carpark some 6km from the village, and signs up saying to use that as parking in the village itself is full. We decide to take a chance and carry on. At the village we are told to turn...

Sep 13, 2019 - Cowtown
Friday 13th Sep… … and it is a full moon tonight (harvest moon). We pity anyone working a late shift tonight. Sharilyn is away to work before 9am, and we need to leave by 9.30 to head to Newstadt to catch the bus to the airport. Cynthea is packing and shouts out to Tony that she does not have Digby and Doug, but then he and Brian think they hear that she has found them. The car is packed, and we are ready to go when Cynthea says again about the boys. A mad panic, and a quick look, but they are nowhere to be found. We hope they have been put...

Aug 22, 2019 - Edmonton Alberta
Made it to Edmonton, staying at the Glowing Embers RV Park for three nights. Why are we here you might ask? While I am not a big shopper, the largest shopping mall in North America is here and I would like to see it. There will be pictures, lord willing and I find sights worth recording. The Mall has been a lot of fun. The population here or the visitors are a diverse group, I would say all nationalities are evident here and it was fun interacting with them through shopping and enjoying the sights. Okay, the Mall; We saw Hundreds of...

Jul 16, 2019 - An amazing story!
July 16 - I have an Amazing story! The last night we were in the campground near Jasper, we were walking Bailey just around the campground. Allan had been noticing a rig from California. As we walked by they were sitting outside. I slowly walked up to the woman who is reading and said, hello! I see you are from California. Where exactly in California? She said LA. I said where exactly? She said Hancock Park. We have five grandkids with us visiting from Israel. (My brain goes ding!) I am thinking.....but still not sure so I ask her her last...

Jul 16, 2019 - Jasper, Alberta, Canada
July 16. Didn’t get going this morning till noon because 1, I don’t like getting out of bed and 2, I wanted to try to send the club email. Which I did and it worked! While walking Bailey this morning I heard a noise, kind that you know something bad happened and it’s not good. A guy was pulling forward out of his sight in his small C class rental and he forgot to put up his awning! I heard the “crunch” and fortunately he was going very slow and stopped immediately. Somehow, by sheer luck, he was able to manually close it and off he went....

Jul 15, 2019 - Medicine Hat
Left Calgary by 8:30 and drove to Medicine Hat. Were going to park at the casino but are no longer allowed to park there, so had to move to Walmart. Tac picked us up, so we didn't have to unhook, and took us to their place for lunch. Sharon made a delicious lunch of buns, cold meat and cheese. Was nice to see Tac and Sharon again and had a great visit. We met Tac and Sharon on a trip to Cancun in 1992. Tac took us back to the rv and Sid (a friend Alvin worked with at R. Angus in the 1970's) picked up up and we went out for supper. After...

Jul 15, 2019 - Jasper, Alberta, Canada
July 15. Last night we were getting into bed and it was still light out at 10:10! Woke to another beautiful morning, though it seems like the mornings and early afternoons are beautiful and then the rain comes in. Took a little walk around with Bailey. This campground is really nice and they have built a little river going right through the middle of the campground surrounded by rocks and shrubbery and flowers etc. Don’t know if I previously mentioned but all through the parks there are wildflowers growing in their short season and they are...

Jul 14, 2019 - Jasper, Alberta, Canada
July 14. Nice leisurely start to the day with beautiful weather, cool and sunny, Low 60s which I consider perfect! Took a little walk and then headed out for the town of Jasper. This particular road is where there are lots of animals and lucky us we saw a small herd of mountain goats coming down the steep rocks. We were able to pull over and watch and take pictures. It was so fun! Animals are my favorite! There were even some baby goats in the pack. Watching them come down a jagged rugged steep cliff is amazing. the drive into Jasper and...
