To spend some more time getting used to the country I decided not to rush straight to Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon because if I couldn't get used to some of the provintial capitals I doubted I should go straight in for the capital of the south. Instead I have stopped in My Tho, another town on the Mekong river. Dec 16, 2004 - My Tho - Mekong Delta

I spent the best and most organized day on the Mekong Delta tour in My Tho together with an extremely humoristic australian guy. Though a gigantic python around my neck and a hand inside a beehive to get honey were great experiences, it was the "joy" of Anthony's mudskippers that got stuck into my mind. Of course banana wine and cocunut candy helpeed a bit as well.
