We left Don Det yesterday, and were Cambodia bound. Matt had the right idea and scored the front seat of the bus where he had tons of leg room, no one squished in beside him and could even feel the AC!! When we finally arrived in Kratie I was not doing so well. ... So we ended up staying at the place they dropped us off at (their evil tacticts do seem to work).We left Don Det yesterday, and were Cambodia bound. We left Phnom Penh early this morning to head north-east. Peggy Today was spent on a bus to Kratie (Peg will spell it correctly if I don't) up the Mekong River from Phnom Penh. ... We could see an island across the Mekong River and decided that we would check it out today. We decided that we would spend about 4-6 hours exploring and then catch a boat back to Kratie, so as to not get stranded out there (course there weren't any guesthouses either). ... Tramping around the island was a lot of fun so we stayed until the last boat out and then it was back over to Kratie for another evening with Joe. ...

Hi guys Well after nearly a week of doing nothing, we managed to tear ourselves away from the blissful island of Don Det and head south into Cambodia. We crossed the boarded with no problems and headed south to a town called Kratie. ... Pretty remarkable is the fact that now everyone is so nice and happy, they seem to be the most friendliest nation to date, its amazing after the hardships of the past! Anyway we came to Kratie to see the Irrawaddy dolphins that we failed to see in Laos. ... We arrived in the town of Kompong Cham where we would have to either stay the night or get transportation to Kratie. ... We had met a couple on the bus, Jaap and Cumie, that were also traveling to Kratie, so we agreed to share a taxi for the right price that is. ... I smiled and said 'Is that where you put the Cambodian? He enjoyed the joke and laughed, I enjoyed it too, even though you are not supposed to laugh at your own jokes! A little further down the road I saw a sign that said, Kratie 204 km. ... We arrived in Kratie at the Hotel Santepheap, (it's just one word) and were told that they had two rooms available. ...
