After spending close to 100 hours on a bus in the last 6 weeks, we decided we deserved a treat, and booked a flight from Ho Chi Mihn City to Phu Quoc Island. A quick 50 minute plane ride, and we arrived on the island, which is the only island in Vietnam situated in the Gulf of Thailand. The island itself is huge, but is home to only 60 000 people...which means most of the island consists of miles of completely deserted, untouched, white sand beaches...after the craziness of Ho Chi Mihn, Phu Quoc was exactly what we needed.
