I can confirm that the road from Poipet on the Thai/Cambodia border is one of the worst that I have ever travelled. ... Travel from Poipet to Siem Reap is by taxi and I "negotiated" a price of 60 USD, down from 75 although higher than the 40 that I was hoping for. ... The journey was not as bad as I expected, taking about 3 hours, in an almost straight line between Poipet and Siem Reap, although I imagine it could be a lot worse if there were significant amounts of rain. ...
