Well, today is the main reason for coming to Cambodia. This is a parade run by NGOs (Non-Government Organisations) that are helping disadvantaged and orphaned children in Siem Reap. ... Basically the children design big puppets and then with the help of adults make them and then have a parade through Siem Reap to the park which is across the river from us. ... We sit for ages by the bridge to the point that I start to wonder whether we’re in the right place but after about ¾ hour we see the traffic police start to close the roads off and we can hear a load of noise in the distance.Well, today is the main reason for coming to Cambodia. Greetings from Cambodia!! We arrived last yesterday afternoon in Siem Reap after taking a four hour bus and two hour taxi ride over the border from Thailand. ... We eventually got ourselves sorted out after paying more then double to going rate for our taxi, lesson learned! Jan 24, 2010 - The Wheels on the Bus go Round and Round....
The Bus: Ohhh…the wheels on the bus go round and round……. As I said in a previous post, the bus from HCMC to Siem Reap, Cambodia (over 500km) was an experience not to be missed. ... On the road are such a variety of vehicles and other users as to defy description, I’ll list some here: Buses (large tour variety), the odd car, bicycles, motorbikes(scooters), people, cattle, chickens, dogs, tuk tuks and what I call Tuk Truks, Donkey drays, water buffalo and carts, rototillers (yes you heard right) , roadside stands so close as to appear like part of the traffic and I could go into subcategories of motorcycles and bicycles but you get the picture. The Bus: Ohhh…the wheels on the bus go round and round…….
