Bulgaria has not been the easiest of countries to find oneself in after Germany, particularly when one as a foreigner is continually on the point of exploitation or robbery at the hands of some communist-rhetoric-preaching official, who believes that merely because you are not Bulgarian you should pay at least 50% more or be made to feel extremely unwelcome. Sadly my first impressions of Bulgaria have not been positive due to the unfortunate circumstance in which my wallet was raped by an officous bus inspector who fined me for failing to perforate the tickets which I had bought on boarding the bus. Despite what my Brother says about the universal love espoused by Communism I cannot think well of a system which allows the exploitation of the ignorant when that ignorance is harmless and easily rectifiable. Day 51 Friday 20 September Bulgaria - Sofia Its a shame I have to go back to TWells for my eye appointment on Monday because Bulgaria looks very nice. The weather has improved & I think it was about 30° again today. It is a lot safer and more friendly than Romania. Sofia first walkabout I was all geared up for hassle at station but no!
