The Paranaguá - Morretes - Curitiba railway was buily back in 1886 for the purpose of opening up the port of Paranaguá to the rest of the country. The line runs through some spectacular rainforests and is not for anyone with vertigo with the dramatic plunges you see when you look out of the window! It drops from 3000 feet to sea level in just 60 miles as it winds around and through mountain sides.
