Much to our surprise we actually managed to sleep quite late today and we didn’t wake up until 8. Our first trip was meant to go to some caves close to Bonito. ... Oct 21, 2009 - Entering Brazil and going to Bonito
00 so there wouldn’t be enough time to get the passports stamped before our bus to Bonito left. ... Joy! We managed to communicate with the lady in selling the bus tickets to Bonito and convince her to hold the bus until we managed to get the passports stamped. ... Our bus drive to Bonito took us about 6 hours and we didn’t arrive until eight in the evening. ... Unfortunately as we got to Bonito we realized that it’s not really in the Pantanal. ... But Bonito is famed for it’s beautiful scenery and for having loads of incredibly beautiful rivers with loads of tropical fish. ...

In the past 3 weeks we’ve been travelling down the Costa Verde (Green Coast) from Rio de Janeiro to our hammock in Florianopolis where I’m currently swinging gently and typing an update! Tough times. ... We have had four awesome weeks in Brazil, discovering the people, the wildlife, the love of football and the beautiful coastline. The female was in perfect condition and the one cub was so inquisitive that he sat for about 20 minutes watching us and patrolling the bank! Every one was on cloud nine! We had started and ended our tour with a bang, the jungle had repaid us for all our efforts! Suddenly the 41 hour bus trip that we were facing seemed do-able! Rio de Janeiro (Teneale) We couldn´t have timed our time in Rio any better as we arrived the day they announced that Rio had won the Olympic bid for 2016. ... This meant that every Brazilian was in the mood for a party and we were just as keen!
