Our first stop in Botswana was to Chobe National Park or as I like to call it “Elephant City”. We camped the first night outside the park and the next morning did a boat ride into the park and it was fantastic. MS and I were at the front of the boat which meant we got very up close and personal with the crocodile and hippo on the river bank as our guide drove along – at one point our guide was explaining how quick the crocodiles can attack as MS and I sat within touching distance of it. Jul 28, 2005 - Savuti Camp to Duba Plains, Botswana

So last night the Hyena never came back.... Be careful what you wish for because we didn't have the Hyena return, and that's probably because there were too many elephants hanging out at our tent ALL night. They were ripping branches off the tree next to our tent, making LOTS of noises all night and we hardly slept at all. Even the elephants that weren't right by our tent were quite loud all night. RUNNING in the plains in front of our tent making their angry elephant sounds. I think we both agree that we would have rather had the Hyena...
