The Pampas Reserve (Beni savannas) is a flood plain region and is located east of the río Beni and north of Madidi National Park. As this region has less flora, it makes it much easier to see animals compared to the thick vegetation of the jungle. The animals in the Pampas congregate near the rivers edge for food, water and to stay cool so a 3 day Pampas tour is primarily focused along the Yacuma River. The 4 of us plus the guide and cook depart Rurre and make the bumpy 3 1/2 hr ride up to Santa Rosa where we were to have lunch. On the way...
