We travelled what seemed an easy 200 miles to Niewpoort in Belgium our final stop on this trip into Europe. We have brought forward our crossing back to the UK to Monday 29 September so will spend tomorrow getting Daisy to the vets for check up and tapeworm treatment required by UK authorities.

Apr 14, 2013 - Veurne and then the Belgium coast

The day started grey but according to the forecast is likely to become sunny and warm. We headed first to the small town of Veurne which became an important centre of medieval pilgrimage for two hundred years. Its Grote Markt is one of the best preserved original town squares in Belgium. Most of the buildings built around the square originate between 1596 and 1628. Nov 2, 2006 - De Panne

Days 1-2, De Panne: The final stop on our tour of Belgium was the small coastal town of De Panne. De Panne is a popular summer beach resort within Belgium. While it was not warm enough to spend time on the beach, we did manage to meet up with more van Walleghem family. Many years ago, after the death of my great grandfather, my great grandmother moved to De Panne with her children. We have had some family living in De Panne (on and off) ever since.
