After a warm evening in Gent we started out on board Elodie for the first hour of the day then launched off on our bikes after fixing yet another flat tire. The ride again took us through nice countryside with roads or paths lined with planed trees for windbreaks. Along the way we passed a marker almost hidden on the side of the road which was the border between the Netherlands and Belgium. Apr 17, 2008 - Belgium. Antwerp, Day trip to Ghent
Took our 1st class train to Antwerp, (as I was told I was too old to buy 2nd class). So we are fancy backpackers and sit with the businessmen who talk loud on their blackberries and older couples who ignore each other as much as possible. Its great, we always get a seat and I get too walk past the heathens in the 2nd class who are way too aggressive for a window seat. I'm fancy anyhow, there is no denying it. Sep 4, 2007 - Cologne Germany
Took a short tour of Cologne Germany, via the freeway to the cathedral, parking lot next to it was underground and very convient. It is the largest and we agree after seeing at least 20 in the last 3 plus weeks its a 9. Left for belguim in rain, drove to brugge belguim camp ground was closed for good, decided to go to Gent Belguim instead found a great campsite with cabin due to rain. good nights sleep
