Apr 22, 2012 - Manama, Bahrain
Today we fly, again...6:30pm. Still in Kuwait... 4-22 Today we attempted to go up the Liberation Tower which many people told us was closed Fri/Sat for their weekend but would be open today. Got there and the guard said it was closed, only open one day a year! He pointed to a sign on Kuwaiti colors which said 25-26, I can only presume this means the dates celebrating national independence. Month unknown. Foiled in that attempt to see something we tried to find the National Museum (supposedly open today). Wiki Info Kuwait Natl...

Marhaba Everyone! Marhaba in Arabic means "Welcome" so Marhaba to our page! Paul and I are so excited to share our Bahrain adventure with you! We have been showered by so much love and support from those closest...

Jan 30, 2011 - Negombo – Bahrain
Sunday, January 30th – Negombo – Bahrain Most of the group left after breakfast on Sunday morning. There were just three of us left. Jan and Sid, the other two, were checking out a little later to move to another hotel as they were staying in Negombo a few days longer. My flight wasn’t until 6.30 pm but I had to check at out mid-day. I spent part of the morning taking more pictures on the beach before walking down the main street, one more time, to the internet café. There was wi-fi in the hotel but no-one knew the password! I checked out...

Mar 6, 2010 - Arabian Nights - Bahrain
Flew out of Delhi (and India)at 8 pm headed for Bahrain for an overnight then on to Turkey. Gulf Air paid for our Bahrain entry visas tranport to hotel, hotel, breakfast and transport back to airport. Thanks guys. Missed the Bahrain Grand Prix by 6 days (starts the 12th). We left India with a great sense of relief, it was hard in so many ways, but it was probably the most extraordinary, rewarding experience so far. There is so much depth, so many layers, such diversity and so any paradoxes (paradoxi? paradice?). We read a book by Paul...

Oct 3, 2009 - Recargando las Pilas =)
En español despues... (ya se saben la rutina=) FER: Ok so as I type this, we're sitting in Daniels Flat (apartment) on the waterfront in Bahrain. We were told of this Couchsurfing thing by some friends we made while in Egypt and it sounded to good to be true, so we decided to give it a try=) We created a profile and then sent some requests for someone to let us crash on their couch for a few days while in Bahrain. Daniel was one of the responses we got and without knowing him or of him we left Cairo with olny directions to his place and his...

Sep 25, 2009 - Wat Pho Temple home of reclining Buddha
After breakfast of Muesli, yoghurt and fruit with Emma, Cory and Elaine moved to their new hotel, and we headed off to tour Bangkok. It was really quite interesting how we kept getting stopped on the street with people giving us friendly advice. The most interesting thing was they kept telling us everything was closed because it was a Buddhist holiday. We wanted to go to the Wat Pho Temple and see the reclining Buddha. Even though we were told it was closed we walked off in that direction, and guess what, it was open. We later discovered...

Sep 23, 2009 - Travel and Arrival in Bangkok, Thailand
I am starting to like this travelling; once again I was not awoken by an alarm clock. Cory and Elaine went for their bread breakfast, packed up the backpacks, and headed to the metro to catch the train to the Airport. A ticket for two cost 10 Euros. We arrived at Athens airport, checked in and waited to board our flight. Athens’ airport has free wifi in all areas. Other airports could take a lesson. Our first flight was a quick four-hour trip to Bahrain. We were only supposed to spend 2 hours in Bahrain airport but there was a problem...

Sep 30, 2006 - Goodbye Africa
So today I left Africa and arrived in Bahrain after an eight and a half hour flight. I have loved everything about Africa and would like to go back someday and explore more on my own now that I have gotten a feel for this continent. I will spend 2 days here in Bahrain. At 9:30pm when I got out of the airport the heat was stiffling so it'll be interesting to see how it goes tomorrow.

Jan 5, 2005 - Arrived in Bahrain
Well, after a few issues on the plane, such as remaining in taxi at Sydney airport for 1.5 hours, and then having the plane delayed because of an inflight brawl, i have made it to Bahrain. My initial thoughts... 1. What have i done? 2. Get over it! 3. I feel like everyone is trying to rip me off... 4. I know this is unlikely, although not impossible... 5. blah blah blah. Looking forward to getting settled in Yemen. Sort of wished i had of just gone straight there. Anyhow. Going for a wander around town. Have myself booked into the only...
