Apr 28, 2013 - Bad weather, so I'm stuck at a 5-star resort!

We decided to stay an extra day at the Sandals Resort Marina due to rain, wind and high seas. This is a beautiful resort with about ever amenity you could ask for including beach, water sports, spa, golf, tennis, billiards room, bocci ball...the pool must be 2 acres. We plan on move 35 miles north to Little Farmer Cay tomorrow to do some diving. Love Celia...

Apr 27, 2013 - Just arrived Sandals Emerald Bay

Just arrived at Sandals Emerald Bay Resort in George Town, Exumas. Caught a lot of Mahi over. I can't believe Jim actually pulled in the lines for a while to rest! We arrived at the docks and did some bartering, 1 Mahi for a cooler full of ice. Ice is $5/10 lb bag. We needed 10 bags. Not a bad trade. Cleaned the fish and headed to pool for lunch. I think I will stay here for the rest of the day! Love Celia

Mar 9, 2012 - The Coconut Challenge

The Coconut Challenge is a Regatta event. First. You must take your engines off your dinghies. Then at hole 1 they release 1,000+ coconuts. You have to row your dinghy with just one swim fin each (teams of 4) and try to get as many coconuts as you can in an alloted time. Second. You have to get two people to hold a trash bag while one other team member picks up the coconut hands it off to the second person who then has to throw the coconut over their heads. The guys with the bags have to catch it with the bag without going over a...

Feb 27, 2012 - Pet parade and kids pinata

To start off the festivities today we had the pet parade, then the talent show and then the dance on the beach. My friend Viv/SECOND CHANCE was the chairman for the pet parade so I helped out. All the dogs were incredible. The theme this year was cowboy boots and bathing suits. Zapper sported a cowboy tie and Lucy was dressed in Texas cowgirl boots (brought by Aunt Nola from Dallas), scarf and tie. Luckily there were no prizes because it would have been difficult to choose. There was one little girl who found a lizard at the end of the show...

Hi All! Things are going fine here. We are doing our usual Texas Hold 'Em tournaments on Tuesdays and Thursday. I have been doing very well and at least getting to the final five so I can get my money back! ha ha There are many nice people who come and we have a great time no matter if you win or lose! We went up to the lookout by the beach with a bottle of wine and enjoyed Happy Hour and sunset by ourselves. It was very beautiful! On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings they have yoga on the beach. I have really been enjoying the yoga...

Feb 14, 2012 - 2/14/12 Georgetown Ocean Beach and Overlook

Hi All! Most days we take a walk along the beach and take a swim before we head home. The beach is so beautiful! On a calm day it is hard to beat! From the top of the hill you can see Volleyball beach and the sailboats anchored in the harbor. The Georgetown Cruisers Regatta will be starting soon! There are about 228 boats in the harbor right now. Hope you like the photos. Cathie on s/v INTERLUDE. OUT.

Feb 10, 2012 - 2/10/12 Palm Bay and Goat Cay

Hi all! I found out from my friend Susan that I haven't updated my blog in awhile. I didn't realize it has been so long! So here goes with trying to catch up on what we have been doing. Across the harbor on the Georgetown side in Palm Bay Resort. It is very nice and the owners Ron and Bet are very nice. We like to take our boat over there especially if the wind will be in the west. It is very protected from all winds but east. The cove at Goat Cay is so calm during the west winds and very pretty. We usually come this side also so we can...

Feb 1, 2012 - Conception Island Photos

Hi All! Here are some photos of Conception Island. Conception Island is so beautiful. It’s difficult to describe this lovely gem. It is totally uninhabited. Everything is pristine. They have now made it a Land and Sea Park which means it is a “no take” zone for both the land and the sea around it. Hopefully this will help preserve it for many years to come. When you come into the anchorage there are many reefs in the harbor. They are easy to swim to from your boat. There are other reefs on the other shorelines too! When we got in Jacques...

Feb 1, 2012 - Rockin' Ron and Krazy Karen

Hi All! One of the reasons why cruisers come to George Town is because it is fun! They have Rockin' Ron aboard Sea Dancer who was a DJ back in the states so he brings all his gizmos to the Chat and Chill on Volleyball Beach (along with his wife Krazy Karen) and has dances on the deck every two weeks. Everyone has a good time. We are among many cruisers from Montreal and Canada in general. Tom and I are brushing up on our French! I think it was a tie between the girls and the guys who had the best time! Hope all is well with you and yours!...

Jan 30, 2012 - Back in George Town

We are back in George Town! I have pictures but need some internet time to put them on the blog. We got back in time to hook up with Linda and Mike/AGUILA and puppy Lucy. All four of us went to Trivia Pursuit night at St. Frances Resort and we came in first. The prize was two bottles of rum! Not too bad for a $1.00 investment! Donna on MOXIE left for Nova Scotia to get a grandbabies fix and Grant has stayed here to look after the boat. We have heard from our buddies Fred and Kathy/MAKAI, Jacques and Sheila/NORTH BOUND, Tim and Linda/MATSU....
