I know, another entry so soon! Well it is absolutely freezing outside so indoors is the best place to be :). After the tour was over, we got back on our mini bus and headed back into Salzburg. ... I then headed towards the fortress, which involved going up a lift through the Modern Art Gallery then walking outside through the lovely snow for 1km (enjoying views of Salzburg on the way). ... I think I actually spent approximately an hour walking around and even then didn't get to see everything.I know, another entry so soon! Yesterday I left London and made the trip to Salzburg. ... The husband talked to me for a lot of the flight, giving his opinion on Salzburg and the surrounds whilst his wife kept telling him to be quiet and leave me alone as I was reading an Austrian travel guide. ... Once arriving in Salzburg airport, I caught a bus into Salzburg then, with the help of a map and various locals, attempted to walk to my accommodation, dragging my luggage in the snow behind me. ... I got picked up outside the hotel about 9:15 by a mini bus (Panorama Tours) and started my Sound of Music tour (the reason I came to Salzburg)! We saw numerous sites from the film, including the Nonnberg Abbey, the wall Maria runs by whilst singing "I Have Confidence", the gazebo, the lake (although frozen over) where Maria and the children fall out of the boat, the steps and fountain where they sing Do Re Mi, the arch they run through, the trees they climb whilst in play clothes etc. ... Amazing views of Salzburg! I got a little snap happy :) On my return to the city, I spent a couple of hours wandering around a shopping area as it was almost 5pm, hence all the main tourist attractions were closed. ...
