Apr 9, 2007 - Northern Italy and Innsbruck, Austria
After six months of seeing few tourists and fewer motor homes, we found them all on the freeway from Italy to Germany - going in both directions! At noon, the bells on all the churches in Innsbruck began to ring the Angelus - bringing us back to last Easter in Burgos, Spain, listening to the Angelus from the Burgos Cathedral. ... We were required to prepay our freeway tolls when we entered Austria - to the tune of €50! We were sold a little machine that we attached to our windshield and every time we passed a checkpoint it beeped, meaning the counter had been reduced. After six months of seeing few tourists and fewer motor homes, we found them all on the freeway from Italy to Germany - going in both directions!
