Today we took our time getting up - had a relaxing morning, and then decided to visit Füssen since it was only a few hours drive away. Once in the car, and heading through town, we were detoured on our route to the highway, so we spent more time getting on a route than expected. The drive through the Bavarian country side was very beautiful, especially as we neared the mountains. Very lush and vibrant pastures lined the Romantic Road. Sep 5, 2007 - Castle Adventure

Today we headed to see Schloss Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. We had fun trying to stay dry waiting to get in to Hohenschwangau. The castle is beautiful and quite intimate for a castle. Next up was the hike up to Neuschwanstein. We got a little bit of a break from the rain. Neuschwanstein is a much bigger castle at the top of a hill. The view of the valley is incredible from there. Jul 17, 2005 - Relaxing on the Riessersee, Garmisch, Germany

We arrived at the Renaissance Hotel on the Riedersee above the village of Garmisch, Germany after working our way down from Austria. We were a little nervous about crossing the border because we never got our Austrian visitor's pass (long story), but hay, why not have a little adventure with border guards.
