Today was meant to be a ride up the Grossglockner mountain by cable car and ski lift, but the weather was still bad, so instead everyone did the alternate trip, a boat ride on the river Drau. First, we had a look around the downtown area of Villach, Most of the town here is quite new, because it was bombed in wWII, but right in the centre there are still some old shops, and the church of St Jakob. ... An easy day today, except for the early start, but still waking early so it was ok. We made a short stop for lunch, then travelled on to Portschach, which is close to Klagenfurt. ... Once we hit Austria the countryside was just beautiful, the road winding around and directly through the mountains. Sylvia's brother Stefan is in the Army and in Klagenfurt as well so he was there and we all just stayed in and had a few drinks and ordered chinese for dinner. ...
